Paris Union School District 95 is partnering with Horizon Health and the Edgar County Public Health Department to “ensure that all children are ready to learn and thrive.”

In a statement issued Monday, Oct. 7, Paris 95 Superintendent of Schools Mary Morgan Ryan reminded parents and guardians that state-mandated health examinations and immunizations are required for kindergarten, sixth and ninth-grade students, as well as students of all ages and grade levels who are enrolling at a Paris 95 school from another state.

Lead testing is also required for kindergarteners.

Completed health forms are due Wednesday, Oct. 15. Students without a completed form will not be able to attend school on Thursday, Oct. 16th.

In the statement, Morgan Ryan noted two local healthcare providers will join forces with the district to get students up to date on their immunizations and shots.

The Horizon Health Family Medical Clinic, located at 727 E. Court Street in Paris, will be providing state-mandated screenings and shots Friday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students and their guardians are encouraged to enter through the west entrance of the hospital’s recent addition and register at the desk located just inside the building.

“It is our goal to have all students in school every day, and we appreciate your cooperation in this important matter,” Morgan Ryan said in the statement. “Thank you to Horizon Health and the Edgar County Public Health Department for their support in providing these vital services to our community.”

Any questions should be directed to a student’s school principal.
